The Crayons have been very busy in art since school started.
We’ve been exploring many types of drawing and painting materials and talking about the sizes and textures of different tools that artists use such as brushes, paper, wood, and clay.
This past Wednesday we looked at Van Gogh’s Starry Night and listened to sounds from the painting (from MoMA’s Destination Modern Art website) on the SMARTboard. The Crayons talked about the different things the Crayons noticed in the painting and the children shared their own experiences about nighttime, wind, and being outside. We then used metallic materials to create our own drawings using large movements.
