The Crayons class took a trip to the Whitney Museum on February 6th. The class has been learning about families both in social studies and in art and had a chance to see different types of portraits at the museum. We looked at several paintings, sculptures, and screenprints and pointed out the different types of family roles we saw in each artwork. One sculpture even looked so lifelike! We even got to touch a pretend hand made of resin to see what the sculpture might feel like. The Crayons also practiced making different facial expressions in the Warhol screen print. We then got to make masks in the Whitney's studio classroom. Can you guess who we pretended to be?
